PRESS RELEASE

March 1st 2004.

New Hammond Organ and Leslie  Speaker distribution for the UK.

Barrie Freeman, managing director of ‘3man’ limited, is pleased to announce the company’s appointment as exclusive UK distributors for Hammond Organ and Leslie Speaker products effective from the above date.

After recent discussions with Suzuki Corporation in Japan and Hammond Suzuki Europe, it has been agreed that the special needs of the UK market would be best served by forming a dedicated distribution operation situated within the country, applying specific, regional, marketing concepts. To this end  Barrie has re-formed Hammond Organ UK under the umbrella of his own independent company ‘3man limited’. Assisting Barrie will be Lyn Freeman (Company secretary) Malc Deakin (Product specialist.) and Darren Brown (Technical Support).

Siem Lassche , president of Hammond Suzuki Europe BV., based in Holland, said.

Suzuki is committed to the future of the Hammond Organ. Since purchasing the brand in 1986 the company has invested heavily in new technologies and new product concepts, such as the amazing new B3 organ and the innovative XE series component system This year will see even further new  and exciting developments from Hammond.

Restructuring for our UK market reflects Suzuki’s understanding of the specific regional requirements for our instruments and is in line with other European countries like France, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy and Sweden where we have extremely strong distribution relations with independent companies”.

Barrie has been associated with the Hammond Brand for over thirtyfive years. Starting as a Saturday sales assistant with a leading Hammond dealer in Watford, he moved to full time employment with other local Hammond dealers before becoming an area sales manager for  the Hammond company in 1977, and, later, national sales promotion manager.

Barrie sold Hammond products through his own retail company from 1986 until 1996 when he was asked by Suzuki Corporation, to take on the position of Sales and Marketing Manager for their subsidiary company in the UK. He, more recently, had also taken the role of European Marketing manager.

Barrie comments.“ I am obviously extremely pleased to take over the direct responsibility for Hammond and Leslie in the UK.  Although some manufacturers have decided to depart or scale down their activity in the electronic organ market, I believe Hammond has a strong future, with demand from existing home enthusiasts, new hobbyists that have been closely associated with Hammond over the years, and of course our extremely prolific professional market where performers continue to use Hammond keyboards and organs in studios and on concert  platforms throughout the world.

As we, this year, celebrate 70 years of the Hammond Organ it is not surprising to me that this unique ‘king’ of musical instruments  still excites and motivates all different levels of keyboard performers and will continue to do so for many years to come.

I look forward to a developing relationship with my UK. dealer network and with their existing and new  customers.”.
